The Sd.Kfz. 7/1 was a standard Sd.Kfz. 7 halftrack mounted with a special superstructure to allow installation of a fully traversible 20mm Flakvierling 38. The Flakvierling mounted four 20mm Flak 38 guns and had maximum rate of fire of 1800 rounds per minute. Though intended for anti-aircraft use, it was also effective against ground targets.-
The SdKfz 7/1 was based on the Halbketten-Zugmaschine 8 tons originally developed to tow the 88 mm Flak 36. However it was also used to mount Flakvierling 38 of 2 cm of four guns.-
The setting was typical with the gun mounted at the rear of the vehicle and an armored shield to protect the crew of 5 men, besides the driving position also had armor. Production remained until 1944 completing 319 copies.-
