7.65 Gustloff, maybe presented to someone? hence the engraving.
 
Tankworks, you are absolutely right.

The Gustoff pistol in the photographs appears to be one of the pistols made (and presented) to promote official adoption. This is an example of a toolroom gun, made by hand in the Suhl factory.
There were speculations that this gun was dedicated to Dr. Walther Schieber. Schieber was Director of the "Gustloff Werke" (factory) at Weimar (Thuringia).
