Pike & Shot Campaigns

The game is set in the pike and musket era. There is a fairly good selection of battles and there is a decent repository of user-created battles available for download. Uses the Slitherine PBEM server. Turn-based, game engine is an adaption of miniatures rules. Same people have produced Fields of Glory. Rico might be able to add his thoughts on it, as he and I played a number of battles over the span of several months.

I myself have and play quite a bit Field of Glory II and thoroughly enjoy it. One of my favorite games actually. I'm interested in "Pike and Shot" but actually have been waiting to see if they bring game up to date visually equal to "Field of Glory II." Graphics look a bit old to me IMHO. Will have to research this game as time permits.

LOL, well I beg to differ. I'd say FOG II is pretty good for the type of game it is.

Odd, poor, washed out graphics in FoG II is one of the major problems I had with the game.

It seems "One man's meat is another man's poison" applies. I think FoG II graphics work very well for the context of the game.
I also say that FoG II is a very good "table top" ancient warfare computer war game.
But we digress, back to the topic of "Pike & Shot"! :2charge:

Yes, it's a pretty good game and if you are interested in the era this should scratch the itch. I think Rico switched to FOG2 to dodge me! Just kidding, he gave as good as he got and then some.

Oh I have always been interested in that era. There was another game out a while back from AEGOD which I was looking at. Thirty Years War by AGEOD. Looked pretty good but I didn't get it because I'm not a big fan of that particular game engine.

Very tempting
I enjoyed playing the the original and the expansion module before Matrix desired to lose all my information and the fact I had even purchased the game
