Over the last ten days rebel activity in the province has drastically increased. This has resulted in NATO casualties, with the US taking the heaviest losses. Col. Frank Zachar has taken the decision to escalate the NATO response and strike directly at the key stronghold in the area, Zargabad.
The US 172nd Infantry Brigade will assault the town with a full company including weapons support, light armour and CAS. The 172nd will assemble to the west of the town, move through the abandoned airfield and into the centre of the town to secure the mosque. Intel suggests Zargabad is heavily occupied with further support stationed at an old military outpost to the north north east of the town.
Following the 1st FGM's successful operation in Zargabad on the 3rd May Col. Zachar has requested support from the team stationed at Camp Hope. Our involvement has been approved, operational details and Intel follow;
[Map of AO and battle plan]
The rebels seem to be using the old military station to the north north East as a storage and support base. Surveillance shows various container storage areas, HMG technical parking bays and most importantly two mortar nests with each nest comprising four 81mm mortars. Our primary objective is to destroy the mortars ensuring they are not used against the US forces. The strike force will need to ensure any necessary explosives are carried to the AO as there is no clear indication of caches at the base.

UK Intel has also noted activity at a villa on the north east perimeter of the town. Several containers have been transported back and forth from this location, with leading figures of the rebel forces visiting the site. The strike team's secondary objective is to secure and investigate this area, gathering appropriate intel where possible.
The team will then moved directly into the town and support the 172nd in securing the area.
The H.A.L.O. insertion into the AO will be at approximately 04:00 hours under cover of darkness. Securing the military camp should be completed as quietly as possible to avoid alerting the forces at Zargabad. Once the camp is secure and charges set detonation is to be coordinated with the 172nd. It is anticipated that the destruction of the mortars will cause the rebel forces to respond, diverting forces away from Zargabad whilst the 172nd advances into the town.
The team is to complete the secondary objective as quickly as possible, gathering intel before anything can be destroyed and then moving to support the US forces from the east.
