Regional update
With Government forces holding the north eastern area of Biombo General Antonio Andjai, Guinea-Bissau’s Chief of Staff, has ordered his forces to push forward and secure the southern & eastern banks of Rio Baboque & Rio Mansoa. The strategy is to push PRS forces west, further away from the capital city.
Engagements with PRS forces have been protracted, resulting in further heavy losses for governmental forces. The local military have 10 MBTs (Main Battle Tanks) however there is a reluctance to deploy them due to the sophisticated AT equipment that the PRS are rumoured to hold.
Situational update
With Gabu secure PRS forces were thought to be falling back, with the bulk of the hostile forces having already retreated west towards the settlements of Mensoa and Nhace. This morning a large PRS force was spotted travelling north from the southern coastal region towards Gabu. The force is well equipped; Government Command believes the PRS objective is to retake Gabu. They are expected to attack late afternoon today.
Mission brief
Tombali platoon and Osprey are to hold Gabu under all circumstances. Tombali is at 50% strength with Bravo and half of Charlie being lost the previous week. With such small numbers to defend Gabu the Platoon Commander has made the decision to focus his forces on holding two compounds in the southern part of Gabu and engage in CQB.
NASOE CCC has ordered Osprey to continue play the PMC role and assist in holding Gabu however we should put in place an exit strategy if needed. This is not to be an Alamo last stand for the squad.
