OK 2.01 has been released.

I've asked 'Tech Support' at BF if patching will effect current 2.0 PBEMs

No word in the *Fix list if the various load screen crash bugs have been addressed.

2.01 Feature List

* Fixed a bug that occasionally caused weapons crews to move back to an old position when deploying their weapon.
* Corrected issues with deploying MGs in buildings.
* Soldiers fire weapons faster at short ranges, especially Garand rifles.
* Small arms fire causes more suppression than before.
* General improvements to MG performance behavior. See note below this list for more information.
* Sandbags, wire, foxholes, hedgehogs, and trenches are correctly treated as "lower down" for spotting purposes.
* Pistol accuracy slightly reduced.
* BAR range increased to 800m.
* Shaders optimized for nVidia and ATI.
* Moving a mortar even a short distance causes greater loss of target acquisition.
* Bunker-mounted MGs are more accurate than before.
* SS leaders have correct poncho camouflage pattern.
* Corrected an accuracy problem with on-map indirect fire.
* Crews bailed out of destroyed vehicles have more jittery morale.
* Corrected a vehicle navigation problem on bridges.
* Target line for area fire is slightly thicker to differentiate it.
* Shooting at bunkers from very short range works better.
* Daimler SOD given a mounted Bren LMG.
* Fixed a bug causing immobilized MG teams after dismounting from MG bunkers.
* Purple "pop smoke" target line goes away when it should.
* Better small-arms aiming at unarmored vehicles.
* Minor TO&E fixes.
* Fixed a bug that caused some Macs to crash while loading scenarios.

Special Note: MGs now have more effective aiming, rates of fire, and suppression effects. These highly requested changes make combat even more realistic and more challenging tactically. Some players will find their existing tactics may need some adjustments, others may find no significant need for change. We recommend practicing attacks on MG positions before continuing an in progress Campaign or game against another player.

PREVIOUS SAVE GAME COMPATIBILITY NOTE:

Save games from v2.0 ARE COMPATIBLE with v2.01, provided that you save your turn-based games in the COMMAND phase (not the replay phase) before upgrading.

Again it's advisable to have a v2.0 and v2.01 install.

Ok. I have a question. Where or when is the command phase? To me it is after you have watch the 60 replay and are issuing orders. But since I have always had problems with PBEM after an upgrade, I must not fully understand where the command phase is.
The way I have learned to play a PBEM is this:
Load PBEM turn and watch the minute of action.
Hit the "big red button"
Issue orders to my troops.
Hit the big red button again.
The game saves the file and it gets uploaded to DropBox.

I have always had problems with PBEM games after upgrading.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks.

DasTiger and I have just successfully sorted our game out. If anyone is interested here is the 'Janet and John' of what was done.

1/ Start CMBN (v2.0)
2/ load file as normal e.g. 'my war 009'
3/ watch video
4/ press 'red button' to enter command/issue orders phase
5/ press menu
6/ press save - this will create the next number file e.g. 'my war 010'

N.B. If you have multiple v2.0 games you need to repeat steps 2-6 for each game

7/ exit CMBN
8/ install patch v2.01
9/ Start CMBN (v2.01)
10/ load file created in step 6 - 'my war 010'
11/ issue orders blah blah blah, hit 'red button', you've now created a v2.01 file to send to your opponent e.g. 'my war 011'
12/ Tidy up - When you go into 'save files' you'll still see the 'saved' file from step 6 ('my war 010'). Just delete it. It's not picked up by H2H because it is a '.bts' file.

Hope this helps anyone who is unsure.

Anyone have an information about this. I thought it was possible to copy your 2.00exe before you upgrade so that you can also run 2.00 PBEM games. I copied my 2.00exe and then upgraded to 2.01. I then received a file from my opponent in 2.0. I clicked on my copy of 2.0exe and opened the game with no problem. But when I looked at the unit names they were all jacked up. In fact it was giving them names from CMSF?

I had a similar problem. For me it was because I had Vins text mod. Once I removed it, it was fine.

Vin has already done an update. Just waiting for Battlefront to post it in the repository.

It has been awhile since I updated. Where do I put the update in again?

And then? *looking like an idiot since I completly forgot*

Are you on a Mac or PC???

If you're on a PC, right click on the Icon you use to start Combat Mission.
A menu will open, click on 'Properties'.
Then look for 'Location'. That'll tell you where you installed the game.

No problems so far, and nothing's been reported at on the BattleFront Forums,

Install CMBN in a different location.

When doing future updates the installer will point to the last location used.
