Mission Overview

The target data is still believed to be in the possession of Victor Ivanosvsky (Codename Oxford) and there is growing concern that he will make a dash towards the eastern Estonian border and into the proposed de-militarised zone. The rising tension in the area and the advancing NATO heavy forces mean Osprey need to secure the data ASAP.

Mission Brief

The team is to ingress north again, into the area ASAP and search deeper north east. There is an airfield approx. 15 kilometers from the river, this is an EDF stronghold and Command believe elements of the 4th Guards Tank Division are also stationed here. Exercise caution whilst searching objectives Alpha & Bravo. The data set and Victor must be at one of these locations, all NASOE R&A intelligence points here.
This is once again a covert OP, no NATO equipment is to be used.

Good luck team, grab the data and get out ASAP.

I had put them in the addon folder, - C:\Program Files (x86)\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3\Addons
That's a big no-no, don't ever do that.
Make a folder in your Arma 3 directory called "@mbg" (this folder you can actually call anything, as long as you recognize what addons are in there).
So it should look like:
\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3\@mbg
In that folder you need two more folders called "addons" and "keys".
Then put the .bikey files into the "keys"-folder and rest of the stuff into the "addons"-folder.
Now you can enable the mods in this folder using the Arma 3 launcher or PlaywithSix.
If the folder doesn't automatically show up on PlaywithSix, you can manually point it out by the "add folder"-button.

I've always put all my mod folders (@something) in the arma3 folder in 'my documents'. This is where playwithsix puts them and I've never had an issue.

@Bullman you ever get your headset fixed?

Hi Rambler, thanks for asking but the short answer is no. I disassembled the headset to see if I could identify the "smoked" component to potentially get it repaired but it looks all to complex. I think I have to just bite the bullet, write off the headset (they weren't cheap) and get a new set. I have been debating whether to get the same pair or a cheaper set. They were G930s; wireless, virtual 7.1 surround. I probably can forgo the wireless and the 7.1 surround because I just discovered there is free software that lets you get 7.1 virtual surround on any stereo headset: http://www.razerzone.com/au-en/surround

Have any of you guys got any recommendations or experience with using that Razer Surround software?

One thing I would NOT recommend is a USB headset - I bought an expensive Turtle Beach USB headset. They work fine, except that after 5 minutes the microphone automatically cuts out on teamspeak. Seems to be no way to fix this so I bought a cheap 10 euro set.

Update!!!

Well looks like I befell some good fortune. Seems my intuition that maybe all was not lost with my fried headphones was correct.

Since I last posted, I just did a quick search for local electrical repair dudes. I rang one guy located in an adjacent suburb who said he would charge $30 for inspection only and if he thought he could fix would charge the additional costs. I doubted this guys abilities and this time searched for "electronic" repairs and found a repair place that I thought was more likely to be able to diagnose/repair these headsets. They said they would first look at it and tell me if it could be fixed before I pay a cent. I originally thought it was a few kms away but when I checked again it was actually was a fair bit out of from where I live (45km in fact). I had already committed to at least getting the headset checked out and I decided that if I never go I would never know for sure so I just went ahead and made the rather long drive.

Seems the little outer rural township was quite a nice place and the shop an staff were just the kind I was hoping for. I explained what had happened (the end of the headset recharging cable accidently dipped in to an empty bowl of salad that had just enough balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing sitting at the bottom that it got in to the end connector; despite dabbing away what I could of the dressing, when I reconnected the recharging cable to my headset, it was good for a few seconds then the sound zapped away and I could smell burning electricals, and voilà! fried headset!)

The guys said to give them about 30-45min to look which I spent wandering around the shopping centre and bought some nice fresh country produce from a grocer. When I returned to the shop I nearly died when he said he had fixed it! Apparently he just replaced the charger cable docking socket on the headset which had fried/shorted and which is the same one you typically see on some phones and cameras. Even more amazing is that he charged me just $35! Win-win all round!

So yes I am back in Arma3 action!
