Regional update
Following heavy fighting for Gabu and the government forces that continue to pour into the Biombo region, the PRS are falling back west. President Vaz has responded to UN accusations of widespread corruption in Guinea-Bissau and senior official’s complicity in global narcotics trafficking as, “unfounded rhetoric in an effort to maintain the global status quo of European dominance in the West African regionâ€.
At home President Vaz and local media are communicating of the great successes that government forces are having against the PRS and the importance of widespread support for the PAIGC (African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde) political party.
Situational update
Fighting between the PRS and government forces continues as various groups clash across the region. The PRS are withdrawing west; it does not appear to be a rout but an organised withdrawal. Government forces are paying dearly for every mile they advance
With Osprey already in the field and intelligence scarce at the moment, NASOE CCC have decided the team is to continue the search for on-the-ground intelligence before joining back up with government forces.
Mission brief
Osprey is to transit to location Yankee, the inlet where the fishing trawler was spotted two weeks ago. As the PRS are withdrawing it is unlikely the vessel will still be there, but the team are to assess the situation and report back to NASOE CCC.
If the trail has gone cold the team are return to Gabu for reassignment to a Governmental forces platoon.
