A Firm Punch Speak Your Mind, What do you Think ?

Thought you might like to read this letter to the editor of a British national newspaper. Ever notice how some people just seem to know how to write a letter?.
This one sure does!

IT PACKS A FIRM PUNCH

Here is a woman who should run for Prime Minister!

Written by a housewife, to her daily newspaper. This is one ticked off lady.

'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001 and have continually threatened to do so since?

Were people from all over the world, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from the nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania ?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a few Taliban were claiming to be tortured by a justice system of the nation they come from and are fighting against in a brutal insurgency.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques and behind women and children.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of Nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.

I'll care when the British media stops pretending that their freedom of speech on stories is more important than the lives of the soldiers on the ground or their families waiting at home to hear about them when something happens.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a British soldier roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain information, know this:

I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take this to the bank:

I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner - who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and 'fed special food' that is paid for by my taxes - is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts:

I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, believe me!! you guessed it .....

I don't care!!

If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behaviour!

If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great country! And may I add:

'Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. Our soldiers don't have that problem.'

I have another quote that I would like to add, AND.......I hope you forward all this.

Only five defining forces have ever offered to die for you:

1. Jesus Christ

2. The British Soldier.

3. The Australian Soldier.

4. The US Soldier, and

5. The Canadian Soldier

One died for your soul, the other 4 for your freedom.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET ABOUT ALL OF THEM.

AMEN!

GIVE THIS LADY A STANDING OVATION.
SHE HAS INDEED TICKED ALL THE BOXES

AND HAS SAID WHAT WE ALL FEEL!!!!!!

Was this sent to the daily mail by any chance?..........................................

There is SO SO much wrong in that letter, but im far too tired to debate it now, one for tomorrow

The problem with the letter, in a nutshell, is it subscribes to "two wrongs make a right" theory.

We might have subscribed to it as children, but most of us grew up to realise it is an immoral principle on which to base your personal standards.

'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001 and have continually threatened to do so since?

Well thats open to debate, i don't see how you can have a "war" on terror, war in itself is a terror. Also as unjustifiable as the attacks were some of america's foreign policy decisions over the past 30 years or so haven't helped

And I'm supposed to care that a few Taliban were claiming to be tortured by a justice system of the nation they come from and are fighting against in a brutal insurgency.

yes, everybody is entitled to the same basic human rights.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.

this is conflating 2 completely different things. Sure the taliban let Al-Quieda do whatever they wanted in Afghanistan, but they were never actively planning any terrorist attacks against other countries. what they were doing inside afghanistan is a completely different story, but i don't see america in somalia, or saudi arabia where the governements are just as brutal.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan

Sorry what? Personally i'd use both th Qur'an and the bible (and hey the Torah and whatever other "holy" book you want to throw in) as toilet paper, but if you're so much better than the "extremists" why lower yourself to their level?

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

A quick google reveals that berg was killed by a group going by the name of Muntada al-Ansar, now wiki doesn't give much information on this particular group (and i don't want to google it incase big brother comes knocking on my door with a search warrant on terrorist charges) but they appear to be one of the many groups who cropped up after the US invasion of Iraq. Now if dubya hadn't lied to us all and carried out his personal agenda of invading Iraq then this group probably would never have been formed.

I'll care when the British media stops pretending that their freedom of speech on stories is more important than the lives of the soldiers on the ground or their families waiting at home to hear about them when something happens.

Huh?

Only five defining forces have ever offered to die for you:

1. Jesus Christ

If the character some calls jesus every actually existed, he never died for me, i'm sick of being told that

2. The British Soldier.

3. The Australian Soldier.

4. The US Soldier, and

5. The Canadian Soldier

Oh and yes, the indian soldiers? Who included, wait for it, muslims.

AND HAS SAID WHAT WE ALL FEEL!!!!!

don't tell me what i feel.

There's my rant but McIvan summed it up more concisely

Edit: I've probably been a bit unreasonable there, but that's me in nicotine withdrawal

That is a real shame Jonny.
Lord Bane

I don't think there's any need to use someone's prized personal possession - eg a Bible or a Koran - as toilet paper. I don't subscribe to either of them, but that's irrelevant to the question of how you should treat people.

It's not like i go out and aquire them for that purpose. But if the need arised i'd have no qualms whatsoever about it (except i imagine they'd be pretty rough)

The point being i give equal (non) value to both

I'm a catholic, but I haven't been to church in twenty years. I don't care for religion, I think it's an out-dated philosophy to control the ignorant.
I believe in god, but not in religion if you get my meaning.
Worship god how you wish but I don't see the need to kill in gods name, I'm sure he wouldn't want anyone to that.

If I make a joke about any prophet or religion, or draw a offensive/humorous cartoon why should my punishment be death when laughter is Gods gift.
