Aliens: Colonial Marines is a first-person shooter which puts the player in the role of a United States Colonial Marine named Cpl. Christopher Winter. The player has access to iconic weapons from the movie such as the flamethrower, pulse rifle, smartgun, shotgun, pistol, and robotic sentry turrets. Players are also able to use welding torches to seal doors and motion trackers to detect unseen enemies.

Gameplay types have been described as "Gauntlet Runs", where players must fight enemies as they travel from point A to point B, and "Last Stand" moments, where players must defend a specific area by welding doors and/or setting up automated sentry turrets.

The above is from Wikipedia and hits the nail perfectly on the head in the last paragraph. The game is a shooter on rails basically. Your objectives are move from here to here all the while annihilating the hordes of Aliens that pop out of every hole in the scenery. It gets very monotonous... very quickly. This game promised so much and delivered so little. Aliens is all about tension... the beep on your tracker that warns you of an approaching enemy xenomorph makes beads of sweat run down your cheek. Not this... the sensor goes of all the time and the hordes of Aliens wash over you. Disappointing.

The visuals are satisfactory and the music is fine but the repetitive gameplay makes this a game that was produced 10 years later than it should have been.

Not very good in my opinion.
