Hi all!
Been playing CM games for about a year now, occasionally with a friend of mine in person over drinks, but mostly single player. I'm halfway through my second PBEM with someone from the battlefront forums, but on a member's suggestion and through some AARs on youtube I decided to sign up to this group to get some more regular play!
A little about me;
I'm a student completing my honours year (having finished my BA last year), my study focus being International Relations with a particular interest in asymmetrical conflicts. I've never been a real tabletop player (ok, I played games workshop as a ten. That doesn't really count though?) and found the computerised aspects more to my style. I've nerve damage in my dominant hand from surgery that makes painting... just a terrible idea. So pre-rendered pixeltruppen all the way!
I got into the company/battalion level 'hardocre' stratergy games through Steel Panther World at War, then found the CM games a few years ago. The last 18 months has seen me grow my stable from beyond the RT demo, and I now own and play RT, BS and FI (the latter fully upgraded and my latest purchase. Thankyou tax return!)
As I'm currently writing my honours thesis my play time will be a couple of turns/day - perhaps on par with someone with a full time job.
Anyways, that's me! Hope to chat to some of you over a few games soon!
