Does anyone know if it is possible to modify the sound file for CMFB/CMRT so that there are no more screams when a soldier dies?

Actually…yes. I find it very triggering…especially because of the need to re-watch the turn multiple times.

I know it has nothing to do with it but, Platoon, what a film, I spend soooo many hours playing with my amstrad cpc game...

I am not aware of anyone doing that. I was sure I had heard of something that removes background sounds. I found this: https://www.thefewgoodmen.com/cm-mo...tle-for-normandy/cmbn-sound/quiet-background/
However it says the background has no gunfire, it doesn't say it is silent.

Here is what you need to do. You need to find the scream sound files in the .brz files and then create a mod that includes files with the same names but that are silent. Once installed the game will then use your silent files when ever it goes to play on of the screams in game.

If the file in the mod above is silent you could use copies of that to do it. If not you could find a short silent .wav file on line to use or use of the games existing files but edit it to turn the volume down to nothing. Or if there is one of injury sounds that you can deal with use that and make copies with the same names as the scream sounds.

I am sure there are better explanations for using rez explode but this does cover it:

I found this video/tutorial on Combat Mission sound modification.
Also, if you haven't already, you should ask the question in the Battlefront forums.
Good luck!

Thank you...and @A Canadian Cat for your help! And...I did reach out on the other forum to a senior member who has connections with the developers.
