The 250/3 variant was used by battalion and higher commanders as personal command vehicles. The Sd Kfz 250/3 was equipped with radio equipment and "bedstead" aerial frame. A variant included which depicts a Pz-Gren-Lehr-Regt 901, 9. Kompanie Sd Kfz 250/3, which was in fact the Infanterie-Geschutz-Kompanie (IG-Komp., aka self-propelled 15.cm howitzer company).
