!!!NOTE THE STARTING TIME!!! Moved one hour forward! @Concord I don't think this changes anything for you down under...
20th July 1998, 06:00 (GMT+1)
1. Situation
A. Following recent spike in illegal border crossings and border clashes (see the attached reports of the border patrol battalions), the separatist forces attacked the police station in Orahovac, successfully capturing it and declaring a free zone in the general area of the town of Orahovac. Given the fact that the town itself is in the rear of the zone of operations of the Priština Corps, it is imperative that we liberate the town and put an end to the armed uprising.
B. Enemy forces
From the reports of the police units and our own reconnaissance, we have concluded that we are facing a light militia force, without any form of indirect support. Handheld AT assets are plentiful, the positions are mined, roads are blocked. Expect determined resistance.
C. Own forces
Task force South, consisting of:
1 BVP M80 (BMP-2 as a stand-in) - 2 crew members.
1 infantry squad -SL, radio operator, machine-gunner, assistant to machine-gunner, medic, marksman, FTL, 2 rifleman.
Attached to the Task force is one operative from the brigade HQ.
D. Neigbouring forces
Elements of the Military police battalion, providing security around check-points. Company fire support group, consisting of 3 82mm mortars. Platoon of D30 howitzers from Mixed Artillery Brigade.
3. Mission
Your task is to deliver the final blow to the uprising. Moving from the base, through the MP checkpoint, your mission is to clear the area of the insurgents.
Upon encountering roadblocks and/or mines, the commander on the ground will decide how he will deal with them.
Fire support will be given by our Company Fire Support Group, as well as from the Mixed Artillery Brigade. The decision to use CFSG is on the commander, the decision to use howitzers must be approved by the brigade.
4. Logistics
Rearming and refueling of the BVP and ammo for the infantry will be provided by our own logistics troops.
Special rules
Communication with the BVP will be conducted by long range radio or infantry phone. The vehicle must survive (loosing it means mission failed).
