We will (hopefully) be testing a new server.

I was thinking to take advantage of the possibility to run headless clients to run a dynamic mission, so i figured we could combine that with a testing session of Mike Force to see if it runs well with ace. It is reported to have some ace issues, from quick testing i don't think any of them are game breaking.

Mike force
Vietnam has been infiltrated by communist forces from the North! Choose one of four specialist teams, and co-operate to build bases, expand capability and find and destroy the enemy in this unique, intense, combined arms, conquest mission . To survive in the jungle, you will need food, water and medicine, tools for building, and a lot of ammo! Earn rank points and medals completing tasks in order to unlock better equipment and support!

It is a dynamic mission made by the developers of the SOG DLC.

Since we are running on a new server i can not guarantee the first mission will be a flawless experience.

Modlist:
TBA - It will be using mods from our existing modlist with some small compatibility mods and a mod for the A-1H Skyraider. I am also removing Alive. Should not increase install size significantly, not should it require much extra download. I will upload it in the evening.

Current modlist:

This will be the modlist, ill add it to the mod thread later if it doesn't require any further update. Remember to activate the SOG CDLC for this preset.
 
Ok i have gotten the server up and running. I have updated the server info.
 
On the server side:
Difficulty options are not working. Known linux problem, ill look into the workaround.
Besides that the server with 1 hc seemed to run pretty well.

Mission side:
Its fair to say we have some teething issues.
Difficulty: Its hard to tell if we are just too few, or that its the large AO zone spawning too many enemies. (We can move to the Cam Lao Nam map, that doesn't start you inside an AO)
ACE/Mod integration: Not as problematic as to be unplayable, but definitively has it's issues. First of is keybind issues, they didn't start working for me until i started the game again. Medic/Engineer roles are pretty much broken due to ace and needs manual zeus assignment.
Arsenal: This i can actually fix, just replace the old one with the ace one.
Other: We never really got to try some of the cool stuff such as the build and logistics system as we where to busy surviving the Khe Sanh offensive.

I did have fun, but parts where very frustrating. Mostly due to too many enemies and to few players. I will probably send a bug report for the newest version and hope that we can run that after a hotfix, as that does have difficulty options.
[New] Adds a mission parameter to scale the number of AI (and therefore difficulty)
 
After some thoughts and deliberation, I have concluded the following:

Mike Force is haram.
 
At times the intensity of the combat was fun, trying to save @Concord from advancing hoards, but it also became frustrating because of the sheer count of adversaries.

Adjusting the size and continously spawning enemy may help, I'd be interested in trying it again post further development.
 
Despite some problems, I enjoyed our first foray into SOG, thanks for all your effort setting it up Red! (y)
And thanks for trying to keep me alive as multiple enemies closed in on me Double! :p

P.S. I think pretty much all my deaths were from molotovs and rpg's! Oof.
