Alright lads, we finally have our target for the invasion. We'll be hitting a fortified artillery position the Germans are calling Widerstandsnest 451.
Aerial recon shows the gun bunkers are large enough to house heavy artillery pieces and those heavy guns will be able to cover entirety of Sword-beach and more, making the destruction of those guns a high priority.
As you can see from the recon photo the position consists of four gun bunkers to the north connected by a trench, south of that is a series of concrete blockhouses providing shelter for the troops. Ground recon done by the French resistance reports a barbed wire fence and a thin minefield forming a ring around the whole complex.
We'll insert near WN 451 via glider, breach the minefield & fence covertly or overtly and assault the complex with the ultimate goal to spike any artillery piece we find. After that is done we are to head north to Hameau Girard and link up with other paras who should have secured the hamlet and wait for the troops moving inland from the beaches to link up with us.
Do note that this is most likely going to be our last mission before the Christmas & New Year break. So you guys better participate to lessen the coming impact of Arma withdrawal.
