The soviet exercise "Zapad-81" was a cover for an invasion over the Inner German border. Soviet massed motor and armor spearheads have broken through areas of the front line and are racing to exploit our rear. Your company have volunteered to buy time for rear unit's to redeploy too more defensible positions across the river.
Your squad is tasked with holding Road 71, while the rest of your platoon is holding road 493. Intelligence have intercepted orders from a Motor Rifle Company: Two platoons will attack the towns of 'Schlieckau' and 'Wellendorf'. Your squad is currently located at 'Schlieckau' which used to be your platoons HQ, so you have heavy weapons at your disposal. You are to buy time for a field hospital along road 71 to evacuate. You are supported by company level man portable anti air units.
