I checked and I have Apex already. Any of the other DLC's worth it?
Like if we were going to do an FGM modern session for example?
Would I need to buy any of these or would they be downloadable from the server anyway?

Karts
Helicopters
Marksmen
Laws of War
Jets
Tac-Ops Mission Pack
Tanks
Contact

Well, the ones you listed are DLC's you need to pay for. Even if a server has these loaded, you would also need them. For example, I actually own all them from playing over the last few years, so if I made a mission and you joined, you would only have access to equipment, ect that you paid for. I would be careful and try not to include elements that everyone didn't own. In some/most cases, you might not be able to even join. If you haven't purchased Contact, you couldn't join a mission on the map of Livonia.
I'd say explore a few of the DLC's, but don't go overboard. The FGM WW2 missions are based on vanilla ArmA 3 plus MODS that are free. There's also complete conversion MODS for Vietnam for example that are very well made and awesome. "That's easy! You just don't lead them as much!"
That being said, the DLC's are well made and supported, so if a group of players is willing to purchase certain DLC's, then missions could be made.

Apex and Contact are the must have DLCs since they have the Tanoa and Livonia maps(both are great maps especially Tanoa). Other DLC has weapons/vehicles/equipment you won't be able to use but can still join MP-missions that have that stuff.

There's also complete conversion MODS for Vietnam for example that are very well made and awesome. "That's easy! You just don't lead them as much!"
Hell yes! I'm always up for some 'Nam action.
Here's the mod in question.

Also, they have just released a new RPG-esque single player mission ('Old Man') on Tanoa, about 10 hours of playtime. Dig around for the reviews. I'm only about 30 minutes in, but quite enjoying the 'adventure' (it ain't a shooter (yet)......

Which is why everything has been discounted

Good screenshots @Paleolithic Monk.
It was a good time as always, and great to have a half squad of 6 guys.

My first time in an Arma3 vehicle, driving and firing the 50cal on the US half track.
It was pretty beat up by the time we rolled into the town!

There was good teamwork and Monk did a good job of leading the squad.
Everyone calling out targets gave us an edge in every engagement.

Thanks for setting it up @Josey Wales! Good map too.
