The Bartini Beriev VVA-14 was a vertical take-off amphibious aircraft that was developed in the Soviet Union during the 1970s.-
Designed to be able to take off from the water and fly at high speed over long distances, could make flights at high altitudes, but also had the ability to fly efficiently above the sea surface.-
The VVA-14 was designed by Robert Bartini in response to a perceived requirement to destroy US Navy Polaris missile submarines.-
The first prototype of the VVA-14 was completed in 1972. Its first flight was from a conventional runway, on September 4, 1972.-
Were constructed only two units 107 flights performed in total, with a total flight time of 103 hours.-
The only remains of the ships is the VVA-14, No. 19,172, and is in the Air Force Museum in Monino (Russia) since 1987.
