Just finished Volume 1 of Ian Toll's 3-volume history of the naval war in the Pacific. I've read more about the Pacific naval war than the average guy off the street and even so I learned a lot reading this book. Very interesting and a perfect mix of historical accuracy and not getting bogged down with every single mundane detail. Starting Volume 2 this week.
