Iron Fist contains a select study of armored forces and engagements from World War 1 through the Gulf War. Each chapter covers various experiences of tankers through the present day. The book reads easily and is filled with information regarding actions, units, and tactics. It's liberally sprinkled with remembrances from participants as well as information from AAR's. What I found particularly interesting were the chapters of AFV fighting during World War One, including an account of the only tank versus tank engagement of World War 1, the action at Villers-Bretonneux. I highly recommend this book if you are an armored history buff.

Completely agree with you. I luckily picked this up cheap (25p) from a charity shop some time ago and was surprised at how good a read it was. Now you’ve reminded me, I will probably dust it off again. Cheers
