Finally finished this book today and in my opinion its a real slog. It starts well enough but just descended into dirge. I find Dan Browns writing style boring at times... the way he has to stop the story to explain things is a feature in a lot of his books slowing the experience down and removing the must turn to the next page appeal other writers such as James Patterson possess.

This is Dan Browns attempt at unravelling the Masonic Order and its foundations in the birth of America... all the while a murder mystery plays out in the background.

I wouldn't recommend this book unless you are a fan of Browns style... I only came by it because it was on special offer and I got it cheap.

I agree. I really liked The Davinci Code, but have been sorely disappointed with Brown's other work. Guess it didn't take long for the novelty of his first book to wear off.
