Just reading the threads on campaigns, looks like I've been missing out. I may have been a member here in the distant past but the 3-month lapses are sometimes unavoidable, will try to do better this time around.

Been playing CM since about 2001; deleted the demo for CMBO the first time I tried it but then someone told me it included Canadian forces and I gave it a second try and never looked back. Was much more into ladder/tournament play in the CMX1 days but was more enthusiastic than skilled. Remember fondly SuperTed's "Tournament of Stars" but some other ones also. Favourite memory may be fighting Berlichtengen at night with flamethrowing Hetzers and managing a win - felt like an accomplishment to beat not just a member of the beta team, but the designer of To The Volga to boot...

Been trying to give back, mostly via maps and missions uploaded, first to the Repository but now to the excellent Scenario Depot/Proving Grounds. Had enjoyed GJK's sites and very glad to see them continue in the new format. My missions have the TWC prefix (for tacticalwargamer.com my website, though some may have been mistakenly tagged with TWJ for Tactical Wargamer's Journal, a periodical I put out semi-regularly on CM and similar games).

Thanks for the add, Bootie.

Welcome to FGM again. Hopefully you can stay current. I know I had that trouble in the past. I believe this is my third or fourth time that I joined because of my time lapses. I try to get in daily to avoid being thrown out again :p.

Hmm, weird. My email addy is entered into my profile, but for some reason it doesn't show in my avatar field. I can't find a switch to turn this off or on - where should I look?

Welcome aboard, Michael. I've read many of your posts on the BFC forums (like you, I simply use my name there, Doug Williams). Let me know if you would like to try a PBEM.
I'll send you a PM...I was trying to figure out where to go to find a game, but looks like you solved my problem...

Greetings and salutations to you,

ust reading the threads on campaigns, looks like I've been missing out. I may have been a member here in the distant past but the 3-month lapses are sometimes unavoidable, will try to do better this time around.

Some of the campaigns are great, however they are dependent on players being prepared to stick around for months and years playing well. OTOH they are great fun (Don't trust him too much as acting Commander -Axis - in Battle of Bulge Campaign - he's always trying to blag new players :D )

Sounds like you are putting a HELLUVA-A-LOT back, well done. (Shuffle, shuffle, slight feeling of inadequacy as don't do much ----- Oh well I'm not sane enough to manage a day on one subject/planet  - so my excuse sorted - phew :p )

Thanks for the add, Bootie.
Yeah Bootie's great (Does you - and me - no harm to be nice to the boss)

Mr. Dorosh, I have very much enjoyed your work over the years. I have been playing just as long as yourself but all with one very dedicated wargaming friend from my youth ... for many many years I was just a lurker and downloader on the old depot site and others. Then few years ago, I decided to join the blitz mainly to keep track of my games played. Gradually I started to play others, soon I was encouraged, by Hedgehog, to join the FGM and here I have found a fantastic community of like minded individuals ... Welcome.
