Brief stay in the country

Just arrived here for the weekend, about 90 minutes from home.
This stay is a gift from our niece who has been living with us for the past three years while studying to become a nurse - she qualified with a first class honours degree and has just started her job - we are so proud of her!!!

She has treated us to this weekend away as a thankyou for our support and help with transport to and from the University and to her place of work.

These photos were taken last time we we here and I will add more to the gallery this weekend.

Mind the salmon mousse.

Dinner was nice.
Salt and pepper calamari with a vietnamese dip followed by home made pork and swede pie, vegetables and creamy mashed potatoes in a gorgeous gravy.

Not cheap, but very tasty.

Gallery updated with a few photos from nearby Droitwich, including several of the Raven Hotel which has not been in use for over a decade, but originally was based around a manor house built in the 1500’s.
Worth checking it out online.

There’s an inscription inside that book written in pencil by a headmaster awarding this book as a prize for grammar to a student .I picked this book up from a charity shop in Worcester and it really is a good read.

That is quite something.

The Raven hotel dominates that street - what stories it could tell if only it could speak.
Sadly it has suffered some vandalism and graffiti and there’s at least one video on You Tube done by someone who should not have been there.
