Campaign: Battle for San Fratello

Been toying with this for a while ... a small intimate narrative campaign using scale and updated rules from the Heraklion campaign. All units are small company-size battle groups with arty and mortar support assigned by HQ's.
Full FOW and nearly one-on-one casualty tracking (at least when it comes to guns and vehicles)
Both sides will probably control equivalent of not more than two battalions, perhaps elements adding up to a regiment at most.

Fictional/semi-historical ... set late in the Sicily campaign along the north coast of the island, where elements of 15 PzGren Div try and delay the advancing US forces with active defence along some ridge lines and streams around the village of San Fratello to keep a vital road open in their rear to facilitate withdrawal of their comrades to Messina.
US commander's mission is to break through and cut that road -- even if only with artillery interdiction.
Starts small and then more units get fed into the battle as reinforcements.

Would cover approx 2 days of fighting ... which would amount to about 8 campaign turns.

Here's a snapshot of about a third of the map ... hex scale is 1000m per hex approximate.

Not sure when and how this could run ... depends on Bootie's go-ahead and also might run slap-bang into CM:Market Garden release :)

Looks awesome! I would definitely like to join this one or a similar Market Garden campaign!

Small company sized fight campaign with a known timeline for ending? Sounds like the ticket to me.

Hi Rico,

Though I am not sure exactly what it is you are proposing here, it looks interesting. I figure it a kind of meta-campaign tracked/played over some kind of board game? That screenshot looks like it's from a VASSAL mod of some boardgame? I am aware of noob's Combat Mission Panzer Campaigns (CMPzC), is this similar?
