CMBN 3.12 Patch is Out

For those that missed it, the 3.12 patch is out for CMBN:

Interestingly, it looks like the same installer that is provided with the Battlepack. So, access is controlled via activation. If not activated, you see the new scenarios but you cannot play them. If activated, you get the new icon on the home screen and access to the scenarios.

Yes, that is the case. The long term goal is to allow people with mismatches in purchases to be able to play content from the union of their two installs when starting a PBEM. They do not have the code in place to allow that but the first step is to make sure that every install of the game has all the content - just not all activated.

Once that feature is actually added someone with all the content will be able to play someone who just has the base game and they both will be able to choose forces from any module or one of the module scenarios. It is a cool concept and I think they hope that someone with only the base game will have fun playing against someone with more modules and want to get access to the more stuff themselves and buy more content. It will be interesting to have such a feature and it will be interesting to see if it works that way for them.
