Greetings all!

I'm curious if there is any interest in having a Combat Mission Film Festival. I have been enjoying the video AAR's so much that I am in the process of creating some myself. I think it would be also nice to have a dedicated Youtube page just for Combat mission that users could submit content and have all the great material under one roof.

Hey GWN-
What did you have in mind by a Festival? Fighting battles and making AARs in a structured way? Or like Cannes (um…Panzer d’Or?), Tribeca, etc (not sure what that looks like in CM terms lol).

I have a Berlin mirror AAR that should drop in 2 weeks….work schedule permitting.

(Also, I have not forgotten about our prospective battle - just waiting for a game or two to close out so I have time).

Panzer d'Or Thats Good!..... I'm just throwing it out there. I enjoy the video AAR's so much I thought if we had a festival maybe we could get an increased flow of them!
We can always sit around some time and think of the categories maybe have 4 or 5.

Best Director/ Editor, etc...

Was originally thinking it would be done for PBEM battles but I'm sure we could also expand on that like best tutorial video.

Maybe we could make a custom t shirt for the winners of each category or some kind of prizes...

That sounds awesome! I guess it's a matter of us to start sending you material and perhaps getting previous content submitted as well. I was thinking if the channel is structured perhaps by content style such as...
1- Instructional eg map making/scenario editor
2- Tactical tips and tricks
3- Game play vs AI and PBEM

I think having a great repertoire of material on 1 channel would be so nice as there is quite a lot out there but its not easy to find what your looking for.

The Armchair Generals series is what got me started playing these titles...

I'm in the same boat... I played against Ronnoc and I'm about to surrender my 5th game to him... However.... Loosing is a great way to learn... I am also noticing how a lot of meeting engagement maps have an advantage terrain wise to one side but I guess that's the point and does not mean you can't win it with superior tactics and some luck...

I honestly think this idea benefits our members and visitors. It benefits this forum and Battlefront...
We could make the film fest a reason to create more content and thus more interest and exposure for this awesome forum and for Battlefront as well... I'm of the opinion that if everyone wins it's a great idea...

Indeed... Perhaps contacting those that have posted content on YouTube or this site is a good start.
Having the thread in view as much as possible so others who might have missed the post see it would help.
I'm also wondering if Battlefront might like to get involved as well since all the content will be related to them. Perhaps they could help promote it and chip in with some prizes?

Im not a Graphic designer but making a poster for the event would be a good start if there is some space on the main page or the forum to have it displayed there as well on the Battlefront site. We could also have it displayed at the end of members posted videos.

But yes a team is the first step. Im thinking a submission deadline for those who want to submit as a premier release should be by Dec 15th as I was thinking the perhaps Zoom live event could be done on Dec 30th or Jan 2nd? That would give people 6 months to put something together unless they want to submit a piece they have already submitted...

This is a fun idea, I think it has enough merit to pursue and I appreciate your interest and knowledge...

I noticed there is some good space under your forum statistics field where we might be able to put a nice poster for the festival?
