You all know I hate it when you all confirm what I think - to be fair tho BF could have said they were handed down on stone tablets on a mountaintop and I would still think they were rubbish.

It's a bit poor when what we are talking about is the heart of the mechanism that drives game balance.

That's so behind the times ... nowadays, the Gorilla's been taught to type numbers into a spreadsheet ...:D

We're Government, we like the old true method that's worked for the last thirty years. Besides, 'Gazza' would need to go through so many training courses to become computer literate. ;)

I think they just did their best guestimates. I seriously doubt they playtested until they knew for sure exactly how valuable everything is. I for one think Big Cats are about half as expensive as they should be, but you can easily kill one with a lot of luck and a brave PIAT team. I think they justify the point values by citing odd situations that negate advantages like that.

Used to play Panzer Command: Ostfront back in the day and they were not shy about sharing anything. I think the rules were based loosely off of a board game so there were no secret formulas or sauces. In post 4 Rick mentions an attached file that shows all their unit point values. I am going to have to compare these to CM to see how they match up for curiosity sake.
