The long awaited v1.01 patch for Combat Mission: Red Thunder is here! It provides a number of important improvements and fixes, including improved stability of internet play, improved building entry for some systems, a mouse text targeting feature indicating range, improved TacAI logic, and much more.

  • Building entry no longer problematic for some systems
  • Infantry flamethrowers have slightly longer range
  • Troops spot immediately nearby mines better (esp. engineers)
  • Ricocheting APHE will not explode where it finally lands (the fuse is considered damaged)
  • Fixed a bug that sometimes caused buttoned-up tank crew to be suppressed by external explosions
  • Squads position their teams better along walls, fences and hedges
  • Artillery usually requires another spotting round or two before acquiring the target
  • Corrected some TacAI problems with crewmen positioning themselves around a heavy weapon
  • Improved TacAI logic for placing teams along walls
  • Improved coordination between tank hull and turret rotation
  • Better logic selecting the two men for scout teams
  • Improved long-range optics for JPz IV, Jagdpanther
  • Very heavily-laden soldiers cannot use Fast or sometimes even Quick moves
  • Mouse text for targeting: too close or out of range
  • Towed guns look better as vehicle turns
  • Improved damage modeling for external systems on tanks
  • Improved QuickBattle choices
  • Improved TCP/IP play

yesterday I bought CMRT, downloaded the game and the incoming patch. After the installation, both the game and the patch I get an "invalid license" at activation.
I did a fresh installation, run the game, activation "OK", played few turns of a scenario and closed the game.
Then I upgraded to 1.01, started and "invalid license" again .

I tried to disable the antivirus (just in case) but nothing, opened a ticket at the support.

Could activate the game with the new patch successfully.
It SEEMS to run proper with 1.01.
In fact I was able to load and proceed a PBEM-file of version 1.0 without issues.

Nevertheless Battlefront makes this PREVIOUS SAVE GAME COMPATIBILITY NOTE:
"Save games from earlier versions ARE COMPATIBLE, provided that you save your turn-based games in the COMMAND phase (not the replay phase) before updating." ( @Rico )

So, to understand this correctly ... open up my PBEM files, watch replay, go to COMMAND phase -- save them BEFORE I issue commands or AFTER I issue commands?

It was a bug, in this thread you can read that should be fixed.

Yesterday I after reading this thread I downloaded again the patch and re ran the activation process without success.
The BF support ask me for the exact error message, I tried also to disable the antivirus. I guess it's a communication problem from my activation request and the remote server authorization response.
I own the CMBN upgraded to 3.0, CMFI 3.0 + GL, I'm still considering myself able to do simple software activation process (plus 25 year working in a IT dep), come on.....

hope to play a scenario soon.

@Rico

I guess you have to save it during command phase in version 1.0. and load this saved file again after updating to version 1.01 for giving orders.
I suggest to save it directly after entering the command phase.

EDIT: @Rico : I could open your latest file (v1.01) and did save it after giving my orders. A new file was created but CMRT crashed to desktop afterwards. Hope the latest file is not corrupt.
