Can I find anywhere a detailed description of formations for quick battles that would say me full info about parts and weapons of each kind of formations? Or is it only question of player experience?

Yeah, I know that many experienced player could answer but it´s a shame that this important kind of summary information don´t give game or game manual :(

There isn't a decent reference (some parts of the wiki are more fleshed out than others), but you can easily choose a formation in the editor and have a poke around - there aren't that many really, since a lot of the formations are sub-divisions of the larger ones (i.e., an anti-tank or recon platoon might be part of an infantry battalion, or bought separately, depending on the TOE)

I suspect these aren't quite what you want. These are "Dealership Scenarios" found in the BFC Repository for CMx2 game vehicles. I've not seen any equivalent for infantry formation comparisons. That would be a unit TO&E. The games use them but I don't know which sources BFC based from.

Ha, cheers. A better resource is one that Slim uploaded (although still not fully detailing the larger formations in depth)

This compares US, British and German platoons, and their effectiveness at different ranges.

Please correct me if I'm mistaken but I think @Pekishe is looking to know the difference among similar (not necessarily like) infantry units as well as like units at different times. This is asking how in 1944, a US infantry platoon differs from a platoon of Recon, Airborne, Armored Infantry, Weapons, or Engineers, not so? Same might apply to Heer vs SS or Luftwaffe. Or early 1944 to late 1944 and early 1945. That's a spreadsheet I'd find especially useful for Quick Battles.

Yup, and there isn't anything that I'm aware of that lists these in full. Easiest way to get the information is to create a new scenario, buy a formation and deploy it, then have a sniff around.

It's the kind of thing that should end up on the wiki, but it's a fair amount of work to do, so I'm not surprised it hasn't been done.

Guys. all of your links are very interesting! But @Badger73 is right - I am looking for comparison infantry units within each national army. As @Domfluff said it is a fair amount of work to do some similar summary. But I hoped it exists somewhere on internet. It is huge rest of devs that these information are not included in CM manual. Fortunately BS manual already contains such informations.

BS is CMBS or Combat Mission Black Sea. It is the latest game from BFC and depicts a Russian invasion of Ukraine, a hypothetically new NATO member, set in 2017.

Ah, /me sorta searched head for all ww2 CM's :)

Tnx..

Posted by @RockinHarry at BFC forum. May be useful to some.

Here´s some useful net resources on german OOB´s, although not complete unfortunately. I don´t know of anything comparable for russian, US and CW.
