For those parenting wargamers on the prowl for good family entertainment, it saddens me to say the recently released "Muppets Now" is not it. The premise is weak. Guest stars are just talking heads. Sketches are not funny. The Disney entertainment factory falls far short of any legacy for Jim Henson's genius. On the other hand, the original Muppet Show Season 1-3 DVD's are still available on Amazon at less than USD $15.00 per season. They are well worth it. The Harry Belefonte episode is still my favorite.

The Muppet Show: Harry Belafonte & Animal (Percussion Duet)

Harry Belafonte and The Muppets - Turn the World Around (short version)

Yep. Rumors have it that Disney hasn't released The Muppet Show seasons 4 or 5 on DVD is because guns are featured in some of the sketches and the Johnny Cash episode contains a Confederate Flag somewhere. How I miss the Wonderful World of Disney days of old; Texas John Slaughter, The Saga of Andy Burnett, Elfego Baca, and such.

Too bad
But honestly just from the commercials it looked like a pass to me
Just a ride on its previous coattails
