Fact The World of Art

The year before his death, the French painter Eugene Delacroix held an exhibition in which he showed 200 new pictures, many of them very large. After his death, he left more than 6,000 drawings and engravings as well as paintings.

What makes men of genius, or rather, what they make, is not new ideas; it is the idea by which they are obsessed that what has been said has still not been said enough. EUGENE DELACROIX (1798-1863)
