Yes, yes,yes and yes - I agree with all of you! :)

But thanks for posting this, Bootster - otherwise I would have missed this maybe and I will have to watch it anyway! *gg! ;)

Not on DVD at Amazon and not in cinemas in Germany yet. But hey, "fall" (or autumn) has just only begun. ;)

I just saw this one.
I expected war movie, but it's actually more drama than war movie. However, it's good. Story is ok, characters also and photography is fantastic. Few scenes might be called "epic", like first one, where Russians are attacking through the firewall, and jump into German positions engulfed by the flames...

The old German one was good, as I remember, without a love story ;)

Watched the one new today, overall not too bad, but in the US release DVD the Germans speak German (which is good and realistic) but the Russians have been dubbed to English and it shows, the lip movements don't sync that well and they use modern day American vocabulary. Would have rather they had kept the Russian dialogue and put subtitles for both sides. Also a little too much 'Matrix'-style slow motion in the combat scenes. Overall liked the old German one and 'Enemy at the Gates' better

@Rico: Thank You, Rico! I hadn´t could express that better.

@ULF: Both older german movies were better, the one of 1993 (the best I ever saw) and the one of 1959 (Dogs, do You want ti live forever?) what wasn´t bad either.

Greetings :)

The movie was terrible indeed! The Russians were talking American. It was horrible. The story was also crap but I did like the setting.
