British Communist Party decides to support war effort, now that Germany has invaded the Soviet Union.

From 1939 until 1941 the Communist Party of Great Britain was very active in supporting strikes and in denouncing the government for its pursuit of the war. However, when in 1941 the Soviet Union was invaded by Germany, the CPGB change the position for support of the war on the grounds of defense of the Soviet Union against fascism.
