For the current campaign, Operation Chimera, I have about 8 missions left in the story.

This is my 3rd campaign and to be honest I'm now light on ideas and would also like to take a break from the mission scripting. Anyone interested in taking over once the current campaign is finished?

I can support by imparting what I've learnt to date and I'm happy to continue running the host server.

@DoubleD I just want to thank you for your effort to date. It is very hard to be creative all the time. I am sorry that I do not own the game and I also do not have the time at this point in time.

You've earned a break! Your campaigns have been top notch. There are plenty of multiplayer missions out there for our size group to play once Chimera is done. I started a list awhile ago, and to date we've only tried two of them. I can't commit to running a campaign, but I don't mind making a mission every so often.

@DoubleD , working on something for down the track than links up ARMA 3 and CMBS quite nicely while also making ARMA 3 missions a little more 'crazy' in parts. The RHS mods are great and make this venture possible. It won't be ready until second half of the year at the earliest. This means I can take care of the 'light' on ideas part of the problem, but no idea about the ARMA 3 scenario editor and scripting though.

Yeah probably got to fill you in sooner rather than later come to think if it to see if it's a) doable, b) you're interested.

I dont know how to script... Would love to help. I have some ideas based on my Afghanistan expirience.

Or Bosnia ;)

The Arma editor is easy to use and learn but difficult to master. You can get as simple or complex as you want when creating a mission. If anyone is interested in messing around with the editor, here are a couple resourceful links to get you started:

Mr. Murray's Editing Guide (This was written for Arma 1, so some of the information is dated. However, the concepts are still applicable to Arma 3 and will give you a good understanding on how scripting works):

Also, google is your best friend. If you're trying to do something in a mission but don't know how to go about executing it, 9 times out of 10 someone else has asked how to do the exact same thing, or something very similar.

Thanks for all of the follow up. I'm not able to do any other scripting or IT stuff than in ARMA. As Rambler says, mission writing can be as simple or as difficult as one wants to make it.

I have found the most important part is to ensure it is as enjoyable for the players as possible. Often very fancy, trigger full, task blinking missions are full of complicated and fancy scripts but the mission isn't so much fun for the player.

Once the current campaign is complete we will run a mission scripted by Rambler. If anyone else has something they've scripted they would like to run then please shout out here or PM me. Anything, it doesn't need to be using mods or a specific type of mission.

After that we can use the various coop missions out there and also Zeus. If anyone is interested in acting as Zeus I suggest practicing with the Ares mod from playwith six. It can be challenging acting as Zeus and a player so it may be nessecary for Zeus to be a stand alone role.

DoubleD, need to have a chat at some stage for something for the long term. Probably next year.

PM me or give me a poke on steam and we can chat on FGM TeamSpeak.

Was poking around the BI forums and ran across this mission that looks intriguing to try. It's called PMC simulator, and it has a whole money/contract aspect to it that sounds interesting: https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/184069-mpco-42-a3m-pmc-simulator/

Mission manual: https://github.com/TMNFr33d0m/A3M-PMC-Simulator/blob/master/README.md

This looks interesting it could have some great depth with the finance part. A quick read through and the ACE3 medic system is set to a high level. I'm up for keeping that but it would require that some people learn more about how the ACE3 medic system works. Other's thoughts?

I tried the PMC simulator today, concept is good up its quite buggy. I really liked the concept of funding weapons and kit and not having access to everything, sadly the reality turns ARMA into shopping simulator 2015. It takes us 20 minutes to get dressed up with a virtual arsenal, I dread to think how long it would take everyone to shop for their kit.

The missions I tried to run were empty, maybe because I was alone, a 2 out of 5 stars from me on this one. I don't know if anyone else has had more luck?

I ran it for awhile and didn't come across any game breaking issues. I was able to buy everything I selected, recruit AIs, select contracts, etc. Enemies attacked the biotech facility I was contracted to protect, killing me in the process thus causing me to lose all the gear I paid good money for. That in and of itself is a good motivation for not dying. I didn't really get a shopping sim vibe from it. I'd give it 4/5 from what I experienced.
