The G.W. Tiger was a prototype and never saw service.
Mounted on an extended chassis of the Tiger II the first (and unique) prototype was tested at the end of the war, but to Germany being on the brink of surrender, the vehicle never saw service. The uncompleted GW Tiger would be captured by the US 3rd Army at the Henschel Panzerversuchsstation 96, Haustenbeck, near Paderborn sometime between April 5th and April 7th 1945.
While several armaments were considered, the most practical guns mounted were the 17 cm Kanone 18, or the 21 cm Mörser 18.
