I must know, though: anyone hereabouts know the origin of the picture that forms the masthead of this site?

There is NO greater wargame than the Kriegsspiel and the events it depicts are not that far gone from my notion of heaven.

Best,

Welcome aboard, jump right in and have some fun, we have a great bunch of gentlemen here...

Fredrocker: Love your scenarios. Top stuff!

Dutch Grenadier: This is, indeed, my "welcome" post. I was too obsessed with the masthead bit to be gracious enough to say so!

I play just about every milsim that's ever been invented and have a particular love for the CMx series (both generations). I rarely win outright, but I have fought to my share of fierce draws.

My other love is the HPS Napoleonic Series.

IRL, I am Milwaukee's Deputy City Clerk.

Best, and Thanks for the Warm Welcomes,

Jim

Thank you, much appreciated... Now get out of the snow and jump in on some of our tourneys :) I enjoy a lot of HPS (Tiller..) games but they are kind of pricey, not fimiliar with Napoleonic Series though... Squad Battles - Soviet Afghan is a goody....

Again Welcome aboard...

Yo Jim, welcome aboard, now grab an ammo crate and set with us, surely you will find something to chew the fat about...

welcome and join in...I am sure you will find something to your liking.

You found the right place for opponents to beat up on in Combat Mission/PBEM games.
All it takes is post a looking for opponent(s) for PBEM on FGM's forum.
Welcome to FGM, Jim.
Hope we have a chance later to play a few games.

Welcome from the slightly warmer West coast! Hope you enjoy the club!

Welcome aboard, mate! :)

If you're up for a CMBB game, just send me mail.

Cheers!

Dated 1915, the image from LIFE is captioned:

Group of English gentlemen and soldiers of the 25th London Cyclist Regiment playing the newest form of wargame strategy simulation called “Bellum” at the regimental HQ.

One battalion of the 25th shipped off to India during World War I and later served in the 3rd Afghan War—though sadly, without their bicycles.

Welcome Jim,
Great to have you with us. Now let's get down to business. If you want to jump right in, let me know and I'll send a CMAK or CMBB scenario that I have not seen to get us started. Be sure to join the FGM ladder to score your wins. Waiting to hear from you.

@wardog:

Either would be fine...just let me know which one you've selected when you send the turn :).

Best,
