Hey guys,

Mark from San Francisco.

Got into gaming when my dad brought home AH's Afrika Korps one night. Bought and played more games than I can remember...the oddest game being one that recreated the Battle for Lonely Mountain from The Hobbit. Orcs, goblins, elves, Smaug...

Got into computer gaming with my C64 though SSI's Battle of the Bulge kept crashing on me.

Been playing CMx2 for a while and decided I need to play real people to improve my skills while embarrassing myself completely...ready for some CMRT.

I have joined the war room. What is the best way to pick up opponents?

Thanks

Welcome.

I'm new here myself but enjoying the atmosphere and am playing my first PBEM game. If you'd like an opponent for game give me a shout.

Welcome. Afrika Korps. A buddy of mine would bring that over to my house to play when we were just starting out I gaming. Fond memories!

You'll find plenty of opponents here. Enjoy the club and challenges of human opponents. As for finding opponents, just ask. In fact, if you want a game, I am happy to play any game, any module, any side. I prefer Elite or Iron skill level and will play scenarios or QBs. If you want to discuss PM or email me. If you want to play, email me a setup. Most of us use Dropbox and H2HH (now CM Helper) to facilitate game play rather than true PBEM.

Hi Mark, welcome to the group. What is it with Africa Corps here? I recall it being a fairly obscure game. I really liked it but could hardly find anyone to play it with, even at gaming clubs. Yet here we have two people in a row mentioning it. Maybe I've found my place in the world.

Hello Mark, welcome to THE FEW GOOD MEN!
Good to have you with us! :)

Joining this community was the right decision because Combat Mission is at it's best when played head to head (H2H) - as you already know! ;)
But in our download section you will also find a lot of new scenarios to play against the AI.

Enjoy the club and become a part of our community - there are many reliable gaming partners here, plenty of stuff to
check out and good people to meet. :)

P.S.: What Dragon figure is this in your avatar picture? Must be one of the latest, I guess - the face is ecellent! ;)

Old board gamers never die - they just go digital and wonder why they are not as good as the cardboard versions - and maybe the answer for that does actually lie with playing against people rather than an ai. I am 56, and like you played more games than i care to remember and bought even more on top of that, but I don't realistically think a good opponent (ai) will be developed before I shuffle this mortal coil, leaving an attic creaking with lead soldiers and old board games...

Enjoy the craic mate, look forward to a game some time...

Hi Mark!

Hope you are enjoying life in San Francisco, "Sitting on the Dock in the Bay"!

I lived in San Diego for a number of years and visited SF many times.

You have joined a great group here, and I am sure you will have a lot of good times "Do'n Battle" on the CM Front and others as well! All the Best! Adio from Dubrovnik Land!
