I'm Mike, from Northern Virgina, just outside of that hole that we in the U.S. call DC. A longtime gamer (started with AH's Midway and first bought Blitzkrieg way back when...) and CM addict.

I'm not a frequent poster, but have been around the BF forums (same handle as here) since the CMBO demo days. I've not played much H2H, but have been thinking about giving it a shot. I wouldn't consider myself much of a challenge; then AI still gives me fits on occasion. I also wouldn't be able to handle much more than a turn or two a day, possibly more on a weekend... my job has too many frequent demands, day and night. Anyhow, just wanted to check in and hope I get a chance to know a few of you guys... Mike

Well, that's good to know :) While I'm stuck here in DC, I'm also trying to manage the rental of my house... about 4 hours away. When issues crop up with that, well, you can just guess what happens to my playing time :rolleyes:

You'll find as fine a bunch of players to cross swords with here, as you will anywhere else. While you may think you don't have the skills to put up much of a fight, you'll find your mates here more interested in having a good time with you, than in winning or losing. Which is not to say you won't run into a 'Shark' or two even here in our august company, but they are pretty rare here.

I noticed that you don't have an e-mail showing on your avatar field, you can add it by going to your profile page and clicking on 'Contact Details' and adding it to the first field where it asks for your e-mail address. You will want to have your e-mail available, if you want to get into playing some PBEM (highly recommended experience). Do you know about 'Dropbox' (file sharing app) and 'Head 2 Head Helper' (H2HH) (CM PBEM App)? Those are 2 apps that many of us swear by.

Good to have you with us! ;)

Joining this community was the right decision because Combat Mission is at it's best when played against other humans
- but in our download section you will also find a lot of new scenarios to play against the AI.

Please also have a look at our campaigns (tournament section) - some are based on quick battles, others on scenarios.
There is plenty of stuff to check out and a lot of good people and reliable players to meet! :)

I'm not sure what's up with the email??? It is showing on my profile page and all the boxes are checked... I never did receive a confirmation email, and I haven't received any other mailings from the site. Wonder if the lack of confirmation and a reply showing that my email address is active might have something to do with it not showing up? Thanks for the heads up; I'm sure Bootie can get this straightened out :)

I do have a dropbox account and I have an earlier version of H2HH on my computer. I dl'd 2.4.4 today, but couldn't figure out how to install/update it. GaJ didn't include a readme with this version (at least not one I could find amongst the many folders in the zip file). Any help would be appreciated!
 
Yo Rake!
When I update H2HH, I usually just use the .Exe file, then I come back and delete the older version. You may have to edit your currently running games to get the links re-established, but that is easily done.
