Hello,

Recently joined the forum. Heard about it through Ithikiel's CMBN youtube videos (very entertaining). Big fan of Combat Mission games - love CMBN but find myself drawn to the urban asymmetrical combat of CMSF.

Been into Military History since Action Man :) Favourite periods are the British in Africa, WW1 in the Middle East, WW2 and anything else that takes my interest.

I work as an archaeologist (when work is available) and recently recorded many of the buildings at Bishopton Royal Ordnance Factory just outside Glasgow including buildings which were used in the arms race of the 1930s.

Looking to play a few games of CM with other members.

Enjoying the facebook quiz! And, through some fluke I'm in the lead!

Great site!

LOL... welcome Robert. I did some archaeological work up here in Aberdeen a few years back now but probably much like Glasgow funding collapsed and the jobs with the council disappeared.

Here are some pics of the last dig I took part in. St Nicholas in Aberdeen.

Me working for a change.

Working under a crowd.... see the old floor level.. cream paint on the walls and how deep the excavation went.

Quite funny is if you look at the above picture you can see a little window that visitors would look through to see us work just of middle /4 of the way up. Under it you can see a little white square piece of paper. It was hilarious... someone wrote on the paper 'Dont feed the animals'.

Thank you all! Nice pictures bootie! Looks like a good site - was it in conjunction with any company? The last skeletons I dug was in Edinburgh a few years ago adjacent to the old Parish church in Leith - we excavated around 250 skeletons! The were buried in soft sand as that part of Edinburgh was previously a system of dunes. We only excavated to 1.25m beneath the road surface but I think there were even more burials beneath them. It was being excavated as it was along the new tramway route.

No it was through the city council archaeology unit. Was an amazing dig and the biggest in Scotland at the time with over 600 skeletons excavated. How old was the parish church in Leith... the kirk site where the pictures above are from 12th C I believe as there were 3 churches on the site over time. It was back breaking work as some of the masonry was large and very heavy.

Do you have any digs coming up... nothing much happening up this neck of the woods. I would love to try my hand at Battlefield archaeology.

Hello Schwerpunkt, welcome to THE FEW GOOD MEN!

Good to have you with us! ;)

Joining this community was the right decision because Combat Mission is at it's best when played against other humans
- but in our download section you will also find a lot of new scenarios to play against the AI.

Please also have a look at our campaigns (tournament section) - some are based on quick battles, others on scenarios.
There is plenty of stuff to check out and a lot of good people and reliable players to meet! :)

Greetings and welcome. I would love to see some action pictures.
