Hello fellow "Few Good Men". I just wanted to take a few moments to introduce myself to the board. I am a professional airline pilot by trade, based in the North East US, but I currently reside in Houston, Texas. I grew up playing Avalon Hill board games (Third Reich and Squad Leader primarily) and have been tinkering around with computer wargames since NK's Operation Art of War. Unfortunately, I reached the end of my interest in Operational level games (there are only so many ways to invade Russian, or France for that matter) and I felt that a move to squad/platoon level play offered more varying and interesting gameplay. In that vain, I started playing CM two years ago (vis-a-vis the AI) now feel that it is time to step up to human competition - which will more than likely entail a STEEP learning curve. I've been watching Chris ND, Ithikial, Bootie, Johnsy, Pewpewchewchew, and other's videos on Youtube and hopefully I can provide a competitive opponent. Thanks to those members who have taken their own time, money, and patience to create this outlet for our shared addiction...

Joining this community was the right decision because Combat Mission is at it's best when played head to head (H2H)
- as you already know. ;)

For to get involved into the PBEM H2H gaming action, please go to the gaming section and choose the category with
the game that you'd like to play (CMBS or CMBN etc.). There you'll find the postings for gaming requests
(just scroll down a little). And there you may also start your own, of course. ;)

Greetings and Hello,

Great to see another Avalon games player on here owned (and drooled over) a lot of their games back in the day...... Also played, and loved, a lot of OPART, in all it's varied versions. (sigh...... getting all nostalgic for the good old days when he was just ugly and crazy unlike now when he's old, crazy and ugly)

Welcome to the madhouse, enjoy the gaming, victories, defeats and mindless drivel that slosh around this brewery of a site.

Anyway someone more insane (or was it saner?) will be along soon with more sensible advice.
