My name's Peter. I'm a semi-retired former business owner living in LA. Our family's military history dates back to the Civil War, slave owners on both sides, lol. Great grandfather's original photo- in his immaculate gray uniform plus watch fob- hangs on the living wall. Yes, only 'great'. Our women folk tended to conceive well into their forties.

My late father served under Patton in North Africa and Sicily in the Field Artillery. I still have his medals. I remember as teenager going to see the film 'Patton' in the early 70s with him. He despised the man,' a real martinet', and never stopped complaining in the theater. First, the real Patton had a high squeaky voice. Also his actual speeches were, unlike in the film, ear scorchingly profane. Shocking for a well brought up Southern boy from Roanoke.

I owned the old CM games and recently purchased Red Thunder. I did quite a few PBEMs back in the day. But not with the new- amazing- engine. So... I'm rusty. I *think* I set up H2HH properly. If anyone is interested shoot me an EM.

Greetings and welcome! I would love to see some family pics :D

Joining this community was the right decision because Combat Mission is at it's best when played head to head (H2H) - as you already know! ;)
But in our download section you will also find a lot of new scenarios to play against the AI.

Hi Peter!
Welcome on board from another "Good Ole Boy" from the South! It seems we have a few cornerstones in common with Southern Heritage, I grew up in Georgia Land; great-grandfathers who fought in the Civil War, mine as a PVT, Infantryman with the 14th Wisconsin; Fathers who fought in Europe in WW-II, mine was an Inf Officer in the 100th Inf Div, on the right flank of Patton's 3rd Army as the Battle of the Bulge and the German Offensive called Nortwind unfolded in Dec 44; and having both lived in Southern CA, me in San Diego, but worked a few years in the City of Angles! I guess our only big difference is that I only do battle on the CM-1 Front! Welcome to the Club and good luck on the Red Thunder Front! Adio From Dubrovnik Land!

Welcome Peter.
I was stationed in San Bernardino for a few years back in the 70's, Norton AFB - since closed.
I was a big fan of L.A.
I believe it has the highest concentration of the most beautiful girls in the world.
Although San Diego may debate that ;)
