I'm 37 years old, living in Tromsø, Norway.
Interested in ww2. Started playing CMBB TCP/IP with two friends years ago and liked it. Learned by losing.
Now I have Red Thunder. I still like TCP/IP even if I can't see the replays.
I was sceptic of the lack of replays, but I've played 2 games with a friend and I feel this adds some good tension watching the battles unfold. You become afraid. I like that.

I am also interested in PBEM.

I (have/am):
- downloaded some nice mods, and waiting for good scenarios to show up.
- do not like too big battles on battalion level (only tried this against AI), I usually get bored/aggro, and quit. But still starting up those games...
- level: Passionate newbie. Wants to learn by playing and reading forums.
- shot thousands of rounds with the MG-3, bipod and the Norwegian tripod. And of course - from the hip.
- a Volvo Amazon.
- found 29 127mm coast artillery shells while freediving outside an old German Fort. Navy divers collected it and blew it up.

Others war-ish things I have played:
Axis & allies boardgame and the online versions.
Conflict of heroes boardgame.
Company of heroes 1 & 2
Red orchestra 1 & 2
Silent hunter
Panzer general 1 & 2
Steel panthers
Il-2 Shturmovik series
World of tanks
Dam busters and Beach head on Cm64 :D

What online version?

Thank you, all!

In the beginning you could play online via Gamespy, with the original CD

Then there was/is a user made community that made all the different versions and much more, and you could play online very easy. It is called tripleA. Check out the screenshots to get an impression of it. Many players, but I think there were some copyright issues (not sure). Looks like it's still there and has new content. There were user made stuff like ww1, Risk, Lord of the rings :D and some cool A&A house rules. Great fun.

Hello Dan, welcome to THE FEW GOOD MEN!
Good to have you with us! :)

Joining this community was the right decision because Combat Mission is at it's best when played head to head (H2H)! ;)
But in our download section you will also find a lot of new scenarios to play against the AI.

Enjoy the club and become a part of our community - there are many reliable gaming partners here, plenty of stuff to
check out and good people to meet. :)

Nothing too amazing.
When new guys come to the forum I like to see where they come from, learn some geography, something about other peoples and culture and maybe broaden my horizons.
One of the things I enjoy so much about this forum it takes me places around the world I never new existed. (But I sure would like to visit)

So I wiki'd Tromsø, Norway and what better way to welcome someone than to root for their home team. ;)

Not only that but I learned the Tromso is called the Gateway to the Arctic.
Looks a bit chilly for me but I'll bet the northern lights are fantastic to watch.

And a Cool Fact:
The German battleship Tirpitz was sunk by the RAF off the Tromsøy island on 12 November 1944.

Welcome aboard! Shoot me an email if you would like to do some PBEM er PB Dropbox of Red Thunder.

Thanks,
Bobo

Welcome - when I was young I spent a few weeks in Haugesund with my family - happy days...

Enjoy the battles!
