I'm playing an MMO shooter called Heroes and Generals. This game has 2 factions

1: US
2: German

The basic concept is that you pick a side and start to level you soldier. You can earn ingame currency that you can use to buy beter weapons or upgrade the one you have. If you don't like to "grind" for these credits you can spend real money to buy stuff.

The game looks awesome and plays real smooth.

Looks more as a more earnest successor of Battlefield Heroes. Wasn´t a bad game but suffered from tons of unhonest players and the change from a totally free online game to one You could gain advantages by buying betterings. I fear Heroes and Generals will suffer the same fate. Nevertheless I´ll take a look into it if some time can be spared.

The latest update is released introducing new weapons such as the BAR, panzerschreck, M8 greyhound, pws222 and loads of new options.
 
Yes I like it. Grahpics looks really great, models are awesome and maps are huge. And all for free.
 
Heroes and Generals appears to have everything going for it. Strong team based combined arms on the battlefield and a player influenced theatre of war. Battles have a point to them and with solid effort your team can win a very long campaign for their country. Planes, tanks, halftracks, and jeeps all playable and nicely modeled. Lots of small arms to choose from and then the ability to modify them to your liking. Some perks that can be unlocked to give your character some buffs, nothing game breaking just some basic like stamina and less recoil. The maps are well done and are solid capture/defend until one team gets the upper hand. After each battle you get "paid" in silver coins to purchase weapons and mods. The prices are a little high on some stuff so you will either have to grind it out or take the way of the "Credit Card Commando" and purchase gold coins. It appears that everything can be bought with silver so you don't have to worry about "pay to win" too much.
Sadly with all that is going for this game it all comes down to the player base that kills it. The game appears to be flooded with children, CoD players, and professional campers. For a game that is designed around teamwork it is painful when your team is not working together. The few people that do try to work together are handicapped by the lack of coms in the game. I would suggest joining or forming a group and jumping on TS or Mumble if you want to play this game if not then I suggest that you stand up, face the wall next to you and bash your head into it until dizzy because after an hour or so of playing this little gem that's how you will feel.
 
I like this game. I can understand what Septic Limb means but I don't mind it. I just like to play in a great setting. The game plays really smoothly and looks awesome!
I just purchased a BAR and I'm learning to handle it. It has a great recoile.

I only purchased gold with real money once (2400 gold = 6 euro) and this made me buy a US (yes I'm playing the US :D) M1919 LMG and the BAR and I still have loads of gold left. So indeed no pay to win.
The perks are cool but indeed offer no great influence on the game
 
I have unlocked the tanker and have become rolling death on the battlefield. They have a M18 Hellcat and it is by far my favorite tank.
 
The tanking in this game is very good. I think that the M5 and the M18 are the machines that I perform best in.
 
I, personaly, disagree because some tanks in WoT are ficional. And as a histo freek I don't like that :D
 
WoT is too much of an arcade game for me. H&G tanks are not sims but way more realistic than WoT.
