Hex Based Game with a Map and Scenario Editor

Hunting for a game, but not to specifically play. Still with me?

Is there any WW2 era wargame that is hex based and comes with a built in Scenario and Map Editor? Some quick searching and apparently the two options are Panzercorps and The Operational Art of War III?

Anyone used these or other products to build hex based maps? My artistic skills suck so that's why I'm looking towards the game route where it's just the matter of building with existing graphical assets.

There's also a software called Hexdraw you can try ... I build some of my campaign stuff with it.

Don't know if it is a help but there is also a scenario editor/map editor in the game "Steel Panthers - World at War" (SPWAW).

You thought of using a real map with a transparent hex page laid over the top?

I did that in the We Fell From The Skies Normandy Campaign... worked well.

Not exactly a popular area of WW2 I'm trying create a hex map for. Still researching options. CC3 is looking promising, though bit of a fantasy slant to it.

What are you trying to do that is difficult? Is it a campaign map just as a pdf/jpg or is it something more?

@Richtig - Yeah it's for something down the track. Wanting to create a hex map of the Adriatic coast of Italy. Specifically the Moro Rover campaign.

@Ithikial I think I read some very general stuff - probably long time ago - I will try and dig something up and get up to speed.

I will have a look at the maps shortly - maybe we should shift this to a conversation? Looking forward to working on it...

We will need to discuss what sort of scales you are after - etc...
