Hi There.

I used to play quite a bit of CM and was once a (reasonably active) member.

Well then work took over...

Then dabbled with a bit of CMx2. I got a few games under my belt, but problems with updating left me without a game i could use.

But I'm back playing CMBB and CMAK.

Just as good as it always was.

I see some familiar names and some new ones. If anyone fancies a game just PM me.

Cheers

Simon.

Greetings and welcome back. As you'vre been here before you'll know the answer - has it been always this "strange" here? (not so much the site just the members?) ;)

Anyway what sort of problems did you have with updating CM2? Did you find fixes or decide not to bother? If the 2nd feel free to start a thread/pm me as to why you prefer CM to CM2 - I'm sure no-one would mind :)

Welcome Mr. Y! I don't think I could go back to playing CM after playing CM2 but I did have a blast playing them. Frankly, I loved all my old Avalon Hill and ASL games too, someday I may revisit those!

Hello Simon, welcome and, please, try if You have already access to the Axis HQ of MBC! If not, what is probable, I have to needle Bootie or Ithikial again. Please, let me know asap!

Greetings :)

Hmmm. As yet i haven't found it 'strange'. Everyone seems pretty cool to me.

The problems i had with CMx2 was uploading the patches. they didn't work. (tanks would become invisible, things like that) so i tried removing the game and re-installing. but i couldn't fully uninstall. resulting in more strange things going on. so i just gave up... I have RT running on this laptop but i'm too scared to upgrade...

CMx1 is a simpler program and so i have less trouble with it. and the scope of the game is so much greater. early war through to the war's end. a scenario designers dream.

i can see why battlefront do it the way they do it now-releasing smaller time frame modules- it makes much more financial sense and i wish them all the best. but thats the main reason i prefer CMx1

This is a gerneral catch all thanks for all the welcome messages. Cheers.

Thanks for the reply to my off the cuff questions.

I've slowly come to accept that it nmight be ME that is strange - not the people here (Battlefront forums on the other hand ........) :)

Interesting ccomments on CM1 vs CM2. I played very little of CM1 back in the day as i was more into RPG's and FPS at the time having become burnt out on wargaming it interested me enough to buy, but not enough to play a lot. <Shrug>

A lot of the reinstalling issues have been fixed by the (relatively) recent move to a master installer and much improved Customer service supportt (Or so i gather)

Anyways - welcome again.

Hey Simon -- nice to see you back on the electronic battlefields!

Perhaps one day you'll catch up with CMx2 and we can have a battle! :2charge:

I still have your old avatar on file :D
