Hi,

I met Andrew [aka Big Joe] at the Intensive Fire Advanced squad Leader Tournament in the UK. He mentioned that Combat Mission was based on ASL and recommended this website, so I decided to join.

I have played ASL [Squad Leader when it first came out] since the very first day it was available in the UK.

I was a Miniatures gamer until I joined the British Army and as Squad Leader was in a neat box and didn’t require a lot of space to play, it went everywhere with me.

I'm going to download some demos and learn the ropes and then get the full blown CM.

As I don't have any ASL opponents for FtF I have to solitaire it unless at the IF tournament. So CM with its AI will allow me to play a quasi ASL.

As I loved the film Kelly's Heroes and the character Oddball I thought it ideal to take that as my handle especially as Andrew is Big Joe

Hi all,

Thanks for the great welcomes.

Dutch Grenadier: I was in the Royal artillery 2nd Field Rgt, "O" Battery the rocket troop. Famous for our help to the Swedish forces at the battle of Leipzig 1813 when we fired off our Congreve rockets and scared the Frenchies. We carry a battle honour of Leipzig 1813 on our battery flag. I was in way back in the 70-80's.

Hi Oddball,
I think you'll find you are not the only one who is "drinking wine, eating cheese and catching some rays man".
Welcome to the asylum, lots of knowledge here, and friendly folk.

Steve

Nice to see you made it Oddball. "It's not 1.5 million, it's 15 million!"
