How good is the 'suggest' feature in the troop buy screen?

Does it generally give good results in that you can be satisfied with general troop selection and only need to tweak leadership and morale settings to get the last points allocated to prevent poor leadership in important positions?
Or would you rather choose you own setup over the 'suggest' feature of the game?

I usually use the suggestion as a starting point.
I try several suggestions several times, and when I like, I delete some parts and add new ones by modifying the settings.

I used it in the begining and always had worse troops and lost my battle's. Now I even forgot there was this option.

I have only used it a few times. Generally prefer to pick my own poison. However, if you look at my standing on the ladder, it might be wise to look elsewhere for advise.

Every now and then you get a 'hmmmmm' throw of the dice. Most of the time though my reaction is ... WTH!?

Well, usually the AI takes too much arty and armor. Not a good idea to defend a strongpoint with tanks and arty but not a single MG...
