How is this H2H?

I have CMSF and all the modules. Played it a little but not nearly as much as CMBN. I've played a number of H2H games with Combat Mission 2. Never tired CMSF.

My impression against just the AI is the killing distance is much further and close combat is simply murderous-much more so than CMBN. I can only imagine what would happen playing against a very experience opponent.

Many players don't use smoke that much or effectively in CMBN, but I would imagine in SF the proper use of smoke is critical.

In CMBN infantry ability to kill tanks is more limited than SF?

It would also appear at first glance the Syrians are overmatched by the West.

I love this game and it works fine with H2HH if you fancy giving it a go let me know.

Sure I'm game. I use dropbox. I have H2HH, but it is sorta flakey for me. I don't use the chat feature, but if you have Dropbox and just drop a .txt message I'll reply.

Probably best if we start out with a smaller battle till I get used to the nuisances of Shock Force.

Drop me a message and we can get started.

I still like this game over the new CMBN. I just wish they would overhaul the QB system like in CMBN. Maybe with the back porting from Black Sea we will see that?

Playing with the Allies it is easy to just area fire suspected enemy points. Playing H2H you may want to make a rule with your opponent to limit collateral damage. Or like you said an experienced player will submit you before you even get many shots off.

Red can be very dangerous in close quarters battles. AK's will chew you up. As Blue you definitely want to limit yourself to getting into these type of engagements. But Blue has the advantage of better spotting and better morale. Whomever shots first usually wins.

Smoke in SF as Red is pretty useless unless you limit Blue to their IR capabilities. They can pretty much see right through smoke. Red on the other hand - most of the time not.

The Syrians are very overmatched against the Blue. The TF campaign is a walk in the park. If you play H2H, find so called balanced scenarios by creditable authors or have someone set a battle up for you. Syrian AT14 Kornet will wreck your day and put a serious hurt on your Blue AFV. Giving these to the Red side will definitely make Blue be very cautious.

Yep, most battles Blue v Red are overmatched.

In asymmetric battles the victory conditions should be set so that things are evened out.

I play Blue v Blue or Red v Red.

If anyone wants a battle just say.

I have my first h2h going on. Syrians definitely have pretty low morale and having an HQ unit nearby doesn't seem to help much. It's a random quick battle. I was surprised to see the Jackals zipping around.

Kinda tough using the old interface when you're used to the newer Combat mission one.

Blue on blue or red on red seems more even. I would love to see SF cover Korea. Ill probably get Black Sea.
