My name's Mick and I'm hailing you from the frozen climes of the Midwestern US of A.
A bit about me:
I have loved military history and table top war gaming since early childhood. I liked chits and squares/hexes so much, I began making my own when I couldn't find a game to meet my latest reading interest.
My best memory as a little grog was probably making a "Battle of Madrid" (Spanish Civil War) game from scratch on a large leftover piece of drywall. Not sure I knew much about OOB, or scale, or balance, but I am sure it was the heaviest game board I ever saw.
I enjoyed PC gaming in later years, but eventually moved away from it. Then came the first YouTube videos for CM:BN. Having missed all of the original CM series, it was like a dream come true! It has taken some time, but after many delays I now have a decent gaming rig and have picked up CM:FI.
I found this site through a post over at the BF forums. I looked around a bit and liked the vibe and community feel here, so I thought I might register in the off chance that I could someday offer a good ego-boost to an opponent via PBEM.
Looking forward to meeting you all on the battlefield, or at least in the forums.
Best,
Mick
P.S. I'm still looking for the spiritual successor to Fields of Glory -- the Microprose title from 1994. If ant members are Napoleonic fans and have a suggestion, let me know!
